Flame Cutting and Magnetic Cutting Application in Steel Structure Site Installation in Thailand
Project details
Project Background
This project was applied in a steel structure site installation and factory modification scenario in Thailand. The site involved installation adjustment of steel beams, steel plates, support parts and connection components. Since some components needed trimming, hole preparation and dimensional correction according to the actual installation position, the construction team required cutting equipment better suited for mobile on-site work.
Different from prefabrication in a workshop, site installation involved uncertain component positions, frequent lifting coordination, limited working space and temporary dimensional adjustments. The customer wanted to use flame cutting and magnetic cutting equipment to improve on-site cutting flexibility while reducing dependence on large cutting machines and unstable manual handheld cutting.
On-Site Application
The project site used LEHUNDI flame cutting and magnetic cutting equipment for on-site cutting and local trimming of steel structure components. The equipment could be attached or fixed to the metal workpiece surface and moved along the cutting path to complete straight cutting, edge trimming and preparation before local hole cutting.
In actual construction, the equipment was mainly used for steel plate edge trimming, connection plate size adjustment, component correction before installation and partial cutting preparation before welding. Compared with fully manual handheld flame cutting, the magnetic cutting method helped improve cutting path stability, reduce manual deviation and make the on-site processing result easier for later assembly and welding.
Project Challenges
Steel structure site installation is usually not a standardized workshop environment, and many processing steps need to be handled according to actual installation conditions. The equipment needed to be easy to move while maintaining a relatively stable cutting path on site.
The main site challenges included: some steel structure components had already been lifted into position and could not be returned to the workshop for processing; the installation area had limited space, making it difficult for large cutting equipment to enter; component dimensions needed local correction according to actual assembly deviation; manual handheld cutting could easily cause path deviation; and cut quality before welding directly affected later assembly and weld preparation.
Application Results
LEHUNDI flame cutting and magnetic cutting equipment was used in this project for on-site trimming and pre-installation processing of steel structure components. The equipment helped the construction team reduce dependence on large cutting machines, improve flexibility in local processing and make the cutting path more stable.
After use, the site reported improved component trimming efficiency, easier control of local cutting, more convenient dimensional adjustment before installation and smoother follow-up welding preparation. This case shows the practical value of LEHUNDI flame cutting and magnetic cutting equipment in steel structure installation, factory modification and industrial site construction scenarios.
